Newman Students Excel in Big Science Competition


Rio Tinto Big Science Competition

In the third week of May, Newman secondary students participated in the national Rio Tinto Big Science Competition, which assesses student knowledge and critical thinking skills in various areas of science including living things, earth and space, energy and force, and matter.

Overall, Newman students achieved outstanding results in the competition, which last year attracted more than 38,000 students.  Special mention must go to the top performers in the College who achieved the following scores:

30/30      Adrian Cooper, Year 12
29/30      Casey Stone, Year 12
28/30      Hayden Reysenbach, Year 10
27/30      Dylan Melsom, Year 11
27/30      Fraser Eynon, Year 11
